It didn't take long for the spring cleaning bug to bite over here. I'm cleaning things I normally ignore -- baseboards (yuck), window sills (bo-ring) and such. I should probably be glad, but all this cleaning is putting a crimp in crafting time.
Besides the house, I've also gone through my yarn stash and looked at one long-term project in particular, which I should've come to grips with a while ago. This was supposed to be The Gift of Friendship Scarf, but in an effort to clean out everything, including the stash, this is headed for the frog pond. Scarves and I just don't go well together.

They take too long, I get bored after a while, --> insert various other excuses here <--...
Once you've been knitting a while, I think you discover what you like and what you don't like, or what you'd rather not do. I've discovered that I'd rather not knit another scarf or baby blanket (though I don't mind crocheting blankets, as they go much faster). And that's okay. I know knitters who don't do sweaters or socks; or knitters who exclusively do mittens.
This leaves me more room to knit things I want to knit. Which can only be a good thing.
Happy weekend, all!
Pin It Now!

I think life is too short to knit items you don't love...I say knit what you want! Me? It's all still so new I want to knit everything I see!
Have a great weekend.
I was looking up information about transitioning to natural hair and came across your about.com page. I'd forgotten you write about hair. I'm not putting any more relaxers in my hair and looking up hairstyles/tips to use for when I finally cut the relaxer off. I'm going to wait for four months then chop it off.
I decided I am too old and life is too short to do things I don't enjoy. So if a book is boring I don't force myself to finish it and if a knitting project lingers too long or is plain boring I frog it ;o)
Spring cleaning is on my mind but I am procrastinating ;o)
Good on you for spring cleaning both the house and the wips! I'm not a huge fan of scarves either, I think because I don't wear them that much. Shame I have yarn to knit a few in my stash...one day maybe!
I think I clean baseboards once every ten years ;) I love going through unfinished projects and finishing them to make room for more. Love the colors!!
I wish that I had your energy for Spring cleaning. Maybe next week...or the week after ;)
I think that knitting interest is an ever evolving thing. I used to love knitting scarves as a beginner knitter but now they bore me to death. And I still have socks on the needles from two years ago.
