Christmas Day was beautiful and warm. Because we always throw a massive party on Christmas Eve, I usually spend December 25 lounging around and recovering from two days of baking and cooking; this year was no different. I helped with batteries and reading instructions at about 5:30a.m. (!), but after that, it was horizontal lounging almost all day.
Today, the cleanup begins -- notice how I'm carefully photographing around the chaos? I'm taking the cleanup slowly, slowly, slowly. The kids are home from school and in between mini arguments, there have been moments of peace that I love so much. I'm most anxious to clean off the dining room table; I don't have an actual craft room and much of my crafting takes place right there. So the cake plates, treats and toys have to go so that I can get back to making.
I'm ready to make things again, especially since Binding Off 2011

I love how you say crafting should be fun, not riddled with guilt...so very true!
I have been munching on fudge instead of the salad I have ready in the fridge...
yes, the guilt is there! It's a good thing I only make fudge once a year!
Well your house looks quite tidy to me :) I cannot believe that Christmas is over! It just seems like it took forever to get here and now it's done.
Hey Del! Looks and sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas. Just as it should be! I hope Santa was good to you this year and brought you what you needed most :)
All the best for the New Year! I'm looking forward to doing some crafting myself. Who knows, I may dust off that ol' blog and put some of my efforts on there.
Cheers!
I did spend considerable time tidying and organizing after our three days of Christmas. The part that I also enjoy is the trip to the thrift store after all is said and done. Getting new things always makes me realize that I have "enough," so a bit of purging to make room for the new always makes me feel more relaxed. I'm also enjoying those moments of peace between the siblings!
Thats the sad things about Christmas - the day itself is over too soon.
I am hopign to start some crafty hobbies of my own - wish me luck. I know you blog will be inspiring.
Wishign you a Happy New Year.
If it makes you feel any better, Binding off 2011 wasn't an epic fail - you inspired many of us to finish OUR things, hahahaha! I have SEVEN. SE-VEN. Isn't that something?! So thank you - cuz I have you to thank for it! Sounds like you had a wonderful holiday - hope the new year is a great one!
With you completely on creativity and stress - in fact, I think stress is the absolute enemy of creativity. (Mind you, this could just be an excuse for not trying to finish any of my UFOs right now.)
Best wishes for 2012!
No guilt! About binding off 2011 or chocolate covered popcorn (which sounds SO GOOD! I have never had such a thing! I am sureif I did I would eat a whole tin in one day!). As MadMad says, you inspired me to finish a bunch of stuff - i think I got 7 WIPS off the sticks too!
Hope 2012 is even better!
Sounds like you had a good Christmas! I love the initial party chaos, but like you, I also love getting back to normal and enjoying some craft time again. Happy New Year!

You said it Sister! Happy New Year!
