Is it weird that I've had a longer relationship with you than I have with some people? That you've been there through all seasons, traveled with me from place to place, always a comfort? Yes, we had a few hiccups here and there, but in nearly three years' time, who hasn't? Maybe I just didn't want to let go, though I knew the result would be exquisite.

Yes, maybe that was it. I knew I'd miss this yarn, these needles, the soft weight on my lap as I worked and worked and worked those many stitches. But at some point, we have to let go, don't we? We have to bind off that very last stitch and set them free.

Girasole is done. My next post will be after she's blocked. Oh, yes. Pin It Now!

I'm on the hunt for a lovely big project that can come live with me for a while. I love the slow effort that goes into comfort knitting!
Congratulations! It looks really beautiful, I can't wait to see it once it's blocked. I wonder will you miss it now it's finished?

Awesome, congrats! I am looking forward to seeing her all blocked up.
You expressed the joys of knitting on a large project perfectly with your words. It is the process that captures us and makes it hard to let go. Can't wait to see your blocked Girasole.
