Someone has moved into my house & I'm trying to get rid of her, but she's hard to get rid of. Her name is Lack of Enthusiasm (LOE) & she's affecting my knitting.
I have almost zero desire to knit right now & I can't figure out why. I could blame it on the heat, but I spend the majority of my days in air-conditioned comfort. So I blame it on my unwelcome houseguest, LOE.
We had welcome houseguests this past weekend, however, so I didn't knit until this morning, where I did a few rows, then put it down. I would like to start a sock, but LOE keeps telling me not to. She says things like "why knit socks when you can buy them cheaper?" *she's crazy* I'm hoping when the Fall issue of Interweave Knits arrives, I'll be able to beat LOE about the head with it & drive her away. The preview looks exciting.
In the meantime, I've been doing a lot of other things, so maybe I should be thankful. LOE has not affected my ability to work on my book & as that is really the most important WIP in my life right now, I'm very happy for that.
Once my book is finished, maybe LOE will stop leaving wet towels around, dirty plates in the sink & using all the hot water. She's really a pest.
Pin It Now!

In my opinion, LOE normally leaves on it's own. Too bad there's no quick remedy. Guess you just got knit..uh.. I mean grin and bear it!
You'll get your LOE back soon. I just know it.
I'm glad you are getting work done on your book - that is important! Knitting will always be there but I hope you can get back to it soon! I agree that beating LOE over the head with the new Interweave Knits is a great idea!
you know, that heat thing really is a conundrum. i am in the fiery pits of florida myself and it's like, yeah, i'm in A/C, but i still don't want wool in my lap. perfect time for socks though! i say give LOE a swift kick in the bum and cast on! teehee. and speaking of socks, i am SO THRILLED you posted the review link to Interweave. just how long will I be waiting for the free toe sock pattern, though, I wonder. I started to cast-on some socks in my Dancing from KP but now I shall wait! :)
Go away LOE!! Did that help? I get a visit from LOE every once in a while. Especially when it comes to housework!!Hehe.
LOE comes and goes. My LOE usually comes when it's time for house work. Thanks for your comment.
There are so many unwanted friends in a girls life...cramps, bad hair days, bloating, periods...like all things, LOE should be gone soon. At least your getting work done on the book... :D
i have to agree with andrea on this one,LOE is around when there are chores to be done ;)
LOE makes her rounds in Colorado too. She's particularly virulent when it comes to SEAM!! Maybe she is a blessing (trickster angel) in disguise, since you're diligently working on your book :)
